Border permits
Hike across borders with peace of mind
The Peaks of the Balkans trail crosses the borders of Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo high in the mountains, away from any official border post. To cross legally you need a permit for each crossing, registered with the police on the dates you cross. We handle the paperwork for you.
Apply online
Fill in the form below with each traveller’s passport details and the dates you plan to cross each border.
We register your permits
We check your details and register your permits with the police of each country.
Receive permits and invoice
We email you your permits together with an invoice for €35 per person.
- Apply at least two weeks before your first crossing.
- Crossing dates are strict. If you’re a day early or late for a good reason, the police are usually understanding.
- An invoice for payment is sent once your permits are issued.
- For groups of more than 10, email us and we’ll send you a group form.
